I think being alive right now in a time where so many people are waking up to the need of being in alignment with their purpose is amazing. 

It’s not just people of a certain age. I see this in all ages and many different personalities. 

We are all asking the same question, what the heck am I doing in my life? Why does it feel so meaningless and how can I add more meaning and purpose to my life? 

The reason I think it's so amazing is because this is how we’re supposed to be living. We are supposed to be free and happy. We are supposed to feel passionate about the days we have here on this planet, and we are supposed to be at peace.

Life On My Terms Series : What Makes Us Stuck & 3 Mindset Shifts I’m Using To Move Forward Now

There have been many times in my life that I’ve entered that dreaded stuck phase. It usually starts with you not realizing you're stuck, then you start to get frustrated, and me, I get cranky, then I get to the point where I just cry. I sometimes skip past all the phases but most of the time I work through them and it’s because of this one thing. 

FEAR

The worst thing about fear is that it's the first thing our brain goes towards. I’m pretty sure this is meant to protect us but a lot of the time, we get stuck, frozen in time. We keep going through the motions of our life in the phases I talked about above until we’re so uncomfortable that we have to do something. 

As this is my new series of essays about living life on my terms. I’ve decided that from this point forward I’m going to take drastic steps to keep moving forward. Become more aware when fear gets a hold of me and take a leap forward embracing this fear.

What to do when nothing is working out in your life

Reframing - Why is this happening for me and not to me?

Did you ever get stuck in one of those cycles where nothing is working out? You think things can’t get worse and then they do, and again, over and over?

We’ve all been there, right? 

So what do you do to get out of this horrific cycle? How do you respond and not react to it?

One of the most powerful shifts I’ve made in my life was when I learned to ask myself a question whenever I was in this situation. 

It’s so simple but it’s hard to bounce out of the old mindset into the new. 

Old mindset: OMG Why is this happening to me?

Did You Reach Your Breaking Point Yet?

To all the ladies who feel stuck,

In my last post, I talked about the first step to take to get unstuck and I shared you need to know what you want and you need to think big. 

This is the best way to start because you can't get to where you want to be unless you kinda know where you're going, right?

Another point I want to talk about is that change will not happen unless you reach that point, The Breaking Point, because we won't really be motivated to change unless we are so uncomfortable that it's more uncomfortable than the fear of making the changes. 

Our brains are built to keep us alive, not happy. So it's pretty uncomfortable for us as human beings to make these changes. 

So how do you know you're at that point? Well just like I said above. It's more uncomfortable to stay where you are. 

Some of the things I hear from women and have felt myself at one point are:

  • You feel lost and have no idea who you are anymore.

Live With Purpose Series - Dealing With That Negative Inner Voice

First things first, that inner voice is not you. To understand where it comes from you first need to understand your fear response from the brain. When your brain perceives fear it will do anything it can to stop you from doing whatever you're doing. We have all heard of fight, flight, freeze, fawn. Sometimes these responses can be necessary. I’ve recently done two series on my blog that I really loved.

-The Get Unstuck Series

While they both kinda help you do the same thing and can have some similarities, they both served a purpose to different people. Some felt really stuck and had a loss of purpose and some were just going through life changes and rediscovering a new purpose.

Both are extremely important and both are things I had to work through in my life.

It's important for me to help others through this process quickly so they can get on living and enjoying life.

I would consider this to be one of the great purposes in my life.

I’ve decided to combine the two series into one and for the month of December will be going over different things you can do to help yourself through this process. I'll be calling it The Live With Purpose Series.
