Unstuck: Embrace Change, Embrace Growth

Unstuck: Embrace Change, Embrace Growth

I think being alive right now in a time where so many people are waking up to the need of being in alignment with their purpose is amazing.

It’s not just people of a certain age. I see this in all ages and many different personalities.

We are all asking the same question, what the heck am I doing in my life? Why does it feel so meaningless and how can I add more meaning and purpose to my life?

The reason I think it's so amazing is because this is how we’re supposed to be living. We are supposed to be free and happy. We are supposed to feel passionate about the days we have here on this planet, and we are supposed to be at peace.

We all have amazing things to offer this world, and they’re all unique. Last week I talked about last week, how to embrace your quirks as your superpowers, one of the things I talked about is how we are meant to be and share our authentic selves with the world, we are not meant to hide pieces of ourselves because we’re scared of how it will be received.

This is our purpose, to share the version that was put to live this lifetime here on this planet with everyone, uncensored!

A lot of us feel lost right now, stuck. Because we are all raised to go against our natural grain of being ourselves starting from birth.

We are taught to behave, be quiet, color inside the lines, follow the rules. Who wrote ridiculous rules that are soul killing? Have you ever thought about that question? Well, that's a whole other rabbit hole to go down.

So why is it so hard to get out of this stuck place?

I read a quote this morning in a newsletter I get called 17 degrees. It’s an astrology newsletter and I love it.

It said, when steeping outside of our comfort zone “The thing we lose is the SENSE of safety stagnancy provides”?

Bamm, that hit me.

When we are stuck, we know that we are in a place that is safe, we can survive here. But the question you need to ask is, how can I thrive? How can I actually live my life?

So what is the sense of safety that you will gain to lose?

  • Are you living in a place where you might be safe but there is no community?
  • Do you have a job you hate, but it’s a job?
  • You have a home where you survive, but you are not always safe, but it’s a place to live?
  • Are you in a relationship that is not supportive but at least you’re not alone?

What is your safe place that is keeping you stuck?

I find that it is helpful, when stepping outside of a comfort zone, to find ways that I am always safe, where do I know for sure I have some control?

Even though it’s scary to be alone, I have a home, food on the table and great friends.

I may not be able to control everything right now but I do have control over…..make your list.

The clothes I wear, what I eat, how I spend my free time.

But the question really is, how do I get out of this god forsaken stuckness??

My answer to that is always, by taking small steps CONSISTENTLY.

Why does this work?

  • -It’s easier to get started with small steps, less decision fatigue.
  • -You have quicker and easier successes which =confidence, which = more success and that = momentum.
  • - Small steps are not overwhelming.

The next thing that most people will ask is:

What are the baby steps I need to take.

The only person that knows the answer to this is you. In order to really tune into your inner wisdom, you need to get still. Meditate, ask the question, and then listen to those little nudges, your gut, moving toward the flow of your life.

Another method you can use and of course it's a journaling exercise is to ask yourself the question:

If I was the type of person that knew all the answers, you knew what all the next steps were, what would they be?

Also, think of a person you really admire. What would they do, what would there next steps be.

A good point to remember would be that all the steps we took to get us to where we are right now are not going to get us unstuck, they will just give us more of the same.

So Do Different!

So, how do you want to rewrite your story, what is the direction you want to go in? How do you want to show up in the UNSTUCK stage of your life?

You get to decide, so make it good. NO, make it GREAT!
