Hello, Gorgeous! Tune into Your Body:

  • Start each meal by checking in with your body. How hungry are you? What does your body truly crave? Trust your instincts and honor your hunger and fullness cues. Some of the things to pay attention to are don’t eat until you’re full, eat until you’re not hungry.  There is a big difference. I know when I like what I’m eating I tend to overeat so be mindful of when you’re just not feeling hungry anymore.

Savor Every Morsel, Darling: 

Slow down, honey! Take the time to appreciate the flavors, textures, and aromas of your food. Chew slowly and mindfully, relishing each bite like it's a work of culinary art.

Something helpful I do is count my chews. I know it sounds weird but it helps stimulate digestion and slows us down quite a bit. Maybe start with 25.

Bye-Bye, Distractions:

Ditch the screens, darling! Turn off the TV, put away your phone, and create a sacred space for your meals. Focus on the nourishing experience in front of you, and let the world fade away. Make it an experience. Get out the good china, I mean what are we really saving it for? Light a candle, and put some fresh flowers on the table. 

Embrace Your Inner Foodie:

Get sassy in the kitchen, babe! Experiment with new flavors, recipes, and ingredients. Enjoy the process of preparing your meals and make it a delightful adventure. Besides, when we cook from scratch using real whole food you are removing processed foods. This means less sugar, bad fat, and salt. This is a great way to uplevel your health.

Release the Food Police:

Show the food police the door, darling! Banish guilt and shame from your plate. Embrace all foods without judgment and create a loving relationship with every delicious bite. Don't get too serious about eating healthy because stressing about what you eat is not good for your health either. Everything is in moderation.

Feel Your Emotions:

Honey, emotions, and food are like old pals. When you're feeling low, seek comfort in healthy and satisfying foods. Listen to your emotions, acknowledge them, and find nurturing ways to address them that don't involve food. This topic should be a whole other blog post! Learning to process your feelings without getting food involved is challenging but not impossible.

Honor Your Cravings:

Your cravings have something to say, sweetie! Listen to them with curiosity and compassion. Sometimes, indulging in that decadent chocolate or savory pizza is just what your soul needs. Enjoy it guilt-free! I don’t know about you but I know eventually I will have that chocolate so I don’t fret about it or wait. I just focus on not too much and the best kind I can get my hands on.

Connect with Your Body's Wisdom:

Your body is your BFF, darling! Trust its wisdom and let it guide you. Learn to decipher between physical hunger and emotional hunger. Tune in and ask yourself, "What does my body truly need right now?"

Pay attention to what it's telling you with every meal. Do I need water? When I eat this type of food I get gas, bloating, upset stomach. Keep a diary if needed until you learn what works for your body to feel your best.

Love Your Body, Unconditionally:

Mirror, mirror on the wall, you're the most beautiful of them all! Embrace your body with love and acceptance. Celebrate all the amazing things it can do, and let go of society's unrealistic standards. Who set these bullshit standards anyway? We need our own personal standards for ourselves. I believe it should start with how you feel not how you look. I feel great at this weight, I feel confident. This is how we should talk to ourselves. Never compare yourself to another person. After all, you’re the only you and you need to own that perfection because no one else can!

Practice Gratitude:

Sweetheart, gratitude is the secret ingredient to a fulfilling life. Express gratitude for the nourishing foods that bless your plate, the body that carries you through each day, and the joy of savoring every bite.

It’s a blessing to be alive and feeling good. I know I am grateful every day for my health because it was almost taken away from me. This is why I live this lifestyle and help other women do the same.

Calm The Fu*k Down:

  • Don’t eat in a state of stress or panic. When we are in fight or flight our body is focused on survival, not digestion. So we will not digest things well or absorb our nutrients well. This can cause bloating, gas, and other digestion issues. Take the time to always do some deep breathing before you eat to relax your body. Your body will thank you!
