Get Unstuck and Live with Purpose

We all have those times in our lives when we feel stuck, stagnant, and uninspired. 

You could feel a bit lost and not know how to move forward. All you do know for sure is you don’t want to stay where you’re at right now.

It could be your home situation, a relationship, your job, or your business. It can be all of the above!

I can relate to this. I think a good part of the reason this happens is that we get too busy doing instead of just being. We get busy. Bust taking care of everything for everyone.

This is definitely more common for women just because of social expectations and traditions.

Some women take care of the home, the kids, their significant other, their parents, all outside appointments, planning family gatherings, etc.. 

They also work full time while doing this and don’t forget we need to look a certain way, be a certain way and for crying out loud we should be grateful.

Now I’m not saying these pressures don't sometimes haunt men but I would be confident to say 95% of the time, in my opinion, it’s on the woman.

We can spend years doing this, most of our adult life and then one day something happens. 

You get sick, your relationship is in trouble, a death in the family, a global emergency and it makes you stop and get off the hamster wheel of life and say, what the heck am I doing? Who am I? 

You see when you’re so focused on caring for everyone else and not giving yourself that same care you will get burnt out. It can and most likely will show up as dis-ease in your body.

But you also lose that connection with yourself, your intuition, what do you like to do, enjoy?

This is very common as we move from our 30’s to our 40’s. 

Our kids get older and less demanding, you have more time.

This is where a lot of people feel stuck, maybe need some healing from overwhelm and burnout, and just want to wake up feeling excited and inspired to start their day.

There have been a few times I have felt this. 

After my divorce when I had the stroke, my body literally made me slow down and I did, I changed careers and moved eventually. 

Then after the pandemic, things really got clear to me. What's important to me and how to be really intentional with my time? 

Today I’m going to share with you 12 different ways to start to reconnect with yourself. 

This is a starting point to help kinda jumpstart you getting unstuck, reconnecting with yourself, and moving forward with purpose.

Let’s do this!

 

  1. Acknowledge your starting point - If we want to get to a new destination we need a starting point and a destination kinda like you’re using a GPS. Let’s take a closer look at where you are starting and acknowledge how far you’ve come so far.
  2. Revisit what brings you joy - Let’s get down to the nitty-gritty of what has made you happy all through your life.
  3. Create a path where you feel lit up - Examine when you feel in flow when you feel good.
  4. Eat Real Food - Get started with eating things without labels and all the additives that make us feel like crap.
  5. Add In Movement - Learn about what type of movement feels good to you and start adding it slowly to your daily life.
  6. Get outside every day - Reconnecting with yourself becomes a lot quicker and easier when we connect with nature every day.
  7. Connection - Be purposeful about who you're connected to and make a point to connect with them more.
  8. Self-Care - Learn how to add self-care into your life daily and how to create the space for it.
  9. Love yourself unconditionally - Love and accept yourself exactly as you are now while still always wanting to be the best version of yourself.
  10. Focus on progress, not perfection - Learn to move forward before you're ready.
  11. Gratitude - Create a daily gratitude practice.
  12. Take action - Learn how to take action, and create momentum, results, and solutions.

 

I know this is a lot of info. This is also just a starting point. Some of you might only need one of these things, some of you might need all, take what you need and leave behind the rest.

Keep in mind there is nothing wrong with being stuck, it happens to all of us, three is nothing wrong with you. I like to look at it as for some reason the universe wants to keep me here longer than I would like. There must be a good reason for it. Then I ask myself, what do I need to learn? What lesson is here for me?

This happened to me recently in my business. I was a bit stuck at a certain level and just couldn’t get past it. I was doing all the things but nothing was really giving me results. 

I took a step back and gave it some good thought, like 8 months worth of thought. Yea I was really stuck and then I realized what it was. I was protecting myself.

You see when I had my stroke I was working hard doing all the things that I talked about earlier. 

My stroke was from stress.

I was repeating my behavior of being too much in my masculine energy of 'doing" myself to death. I needed to balance my masculine and feminine energies. 

My body, the universe, did not want me to go down the same path again. 

Even though deep-level self-care is what I teach and embody, I was still not honoring my need to have more ease and flow in my life. I’m fixing this now and it feels so nice to examine this time in my life acknowledge where I am and why I was stuck and to then, start moving forward.
