Live With Purpose - 3 Ways To Get Started When You Feel Stuck

I’ve recently done two series on my blog that I really loved.

-How To Find Your Life Purpose

-The Get Unstuck Series

While they both kinda help you do the same thing and can have some similarities, they both served a purpose to different people. Some felt really stuck and had a loss of purpose and some were just going through life changes and rediscovering a new purpose.

Both are extremely important and both are things I had to work through in my life.

It's important for me to help others through this process quickly so they can get on living and enjoying life.

I would consider this to be one of the great purposes in my life.

I’ve decided to combine the two series into one and for the month of December will be going over different things you can do to help yourself through this process. I'll be calling it The Live With Purpose Series.

Today, I want to share with you 3 simple ways to get you started.

Let's get right into it.

 

  • Know what your starting point is. Take some time to sit down and write out where you are in all the different areas of your life. (Health, fitness, relationships, career, money, spirituality, community, fun, social) Take some time and really think about it and write as much as you can and how it FEELS. You guessed it, the feeling part is important. Be completely honest with yourself. If everything sucks, write it down. This is for your eyes only.
  • Next, write out, if you had no limitations, none at all, no judgment from anyone, how you would want it to look now and how you would feel if everything was this way. Do every area and have fun. Dream big! Listen to this podcast episode if you need help.
  • So now you have point A and point B. This is all you need when you’re driving somewhere. Your starting destination and end destination. You just need to figure out all the turns in between. You might say, it’s not that easy Tina! But what if I told you it was? You see, when you're stuck you're not moving, you're staying in one place, and the steps in between are you just living your life. One baby step at a time, deciding if that was a good step or not, adjusting the next step, keep moving forward, learn from mistakes. The reason we get stuck is that we are sometimes scared. The outcome can seem so big, it seems impossible. What I’m telling you is the next step.
  • Live your life one baby step at a time. All you need to know, all you need to work on, is the next baby step, that's it! Live in that present step. It's less overwhelming, more achievable, and more fun I might add. As a bonus, as you have these small successes, you will gain confidence. Things become more fun and exciting. You’ll be successful.

 

Moving forward, take one of the areas above that you want to work on. Start with the one that will have the biggest impact on your life, and write out what you think would be the first baby step to get started. Just figure out the first one that's it. I’m going to ask you to stop there. Then when you finish that step, ask yourself, was that a good step or did it not go well, if it was good, think of the next step, If it was bad, think if there's a lesson to be learned or if you just need to adjust and think of a different step, then come up with the next step. 

There is no right or wrong, no failures, just lessons. The most successful people in life are doing this. They're not feeling bad or thinking they're a failure. They are figuring out what the lesson is, adjusting their path, and moving forward. That's it. The key phrase here is,

MOVING FORWARD

Always keep moving forward, don’t stop. 

Even if you take shitty steps 20 times in a row, just keep moving forward!
